Help
Everything starts with the START HERE guide in your Etsy download. This page repeats the main steps.
Your file: empty planner first, then the example
Every spreadsheet opens on your own empty planner. The tab called Example after it shows a filled-in sample; it has its own data and never touches yours. The language you pick on your dashboard is used by the example too.
Google Sheets
- Open START HERE and press the button of the look you like (Night, Garden, Pastel or Emerald).
- Google asks to make a copy: press Make a copy. The copy is yours, in your Google Drive.
In Google Sheets the formula cells show a warning before you change them. Your copy stays fully editable — the warning is there so a formula is not erased by accident.
Microsoft Excel
Open the file from the 1 Excel folder (or 3 Arabic for right-to-left Arabic). Type only in the light input cells; formula cells are locked against accidental typing. The sheet protection has no password, so you can switch it off in Review → Unprotect Sheet if you really need to.
Apple Numbers
Open the file from the 2 Apple Numbers folder. Numbers locks whole tables, not single cells, so the dashboard and the Example tables are locked and the tables you fill in are open. On iPhone and iPad, the Spending table works with Numbers’ Form for quick entries.
The app on a computer
Open the file from the 4 App folder in Chrome, Edge, Safari or Firefox. It works without the internet and keeps your entries in that browser on that computer.
The app on a phone (iPhone, iPad, Android)
START HERE has a link to your planner’s app. Open it once with the internet on, then:
- iPhone and iPad: in Safari tap Share → Add to Home Screen.
- Android: in Chrome tap ⋮ → Install app (or Add to Home screen).
- Computer: in Chrome or Edge press the install icon in the address bar.
After that the app opens from its icon and works without the internet. Updates arrive by themselves and never erase your entries.
Moving your data
- Backup file: Settings → Backup saves a file; Restore brings it back on any device.
- QR codes: Settings → Move to another device shows encrypted codes protected by a password you make up; the other device scans them. Nothing goes through the internet. Very large planners use the backup file instead.
- Excel ↔ app: Settings → Import from Envelo Excel reads your filled spreadsheet; Export to Envelo Excel fills a copy of your empty Envelo file with the entries from the app. From Numbers or Google Sheets, first save the file as Excel (.xlsx).
The app on your computer’s file and the installed phone app keep separate data. To move entries between them, use a backup file, QR codes or Excel.
Currency
Changing the currency changes the symbol only. Amounts are never converted.
